To become a Wildlife Biologist, you would need at least a Bachelor of Science degree ideally in wildlife biology, wildlife conservation, wildlife management, or a related life sciences degree.

University of the Witswatersand (WITS)

The University of the Witswatersrand offers a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in the field of Biological Sciences.

The full-time, three-year course would provide you with the appropriate skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed for a range of zoological, botanical, and ecological careers and specializations.

University of Johannesburg (UJ)

The University of Johannesburg offers a BSc in Life and Environmental Sciences with the purpose of developing qualified scientists who can identify, evaluate and solve problems associated with life, earth, and environmental sciences.

Students who opt for this three-year qualification from UJ will be able to assume and demonstrate initiative and responsibility in related academic and professional contexts in South Africa as well as the international world.

University of Pretoria (UP)

In the University of Pretoria’s Department of Entomology and Zoology, modules for three Bachelor of Science programmes (Ecology, Entomology, and Zoology) and two majors (Entomology and Zoology) are offered.

Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
