WeThinkCode: Learnership 2023

Deadline

After July 18, 2023, the WeThinkCode_ program will no longer be accepting applications.

Please make sure that your application and any other supporting materials are submitted by then to the internship provider.

Failure to do so will result in your application being dismissed from the selection process.

Location

This learnership will be held in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban.

What is WeThinkCode_?

A digital educational organization called WeThinkCode_ was founded in 2015.

WeThinkCode’s mission is to prepare South African youth to participate actively in the economy and to close the skills gap in the digital industry.

To give them equitable access to chances, WeThinkCode_ hires a lot of deserving, young minds from disadvantaged places.

Through this, the organization seeks to enhance the representation of young people who were previously underrepresented in the technology sector.

To date, WeThinkCode_ has hired 500 graduates, placing 93% of them in permanent positions.

What is The WeThinkCode_ Learnership?

Candidates looking to start a career in computer science and technology are offered learnership possibilities by WeThinkCode_.

The program will be held in prestigious coding academies in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg and is designed for candidates with no experience who wish to become software developers.

Candidates will have access to leading industry experts from across the world as well as cutting-edge technology.

The program (2023 Cohort) will start in September, and after completion, the candidate will obtain an NQF-5 SETA qualification that will allow them to apply for jobs as skilled Junior Software Developers.

Please be aware that female applicants are encouraged to apply and all applicants must consent to their documents undergoing verification and clearance checks when applying.

Requirements

This learnership program will require applicants to meet the following criteria to be considered ideal applicants:

  • Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Applicants must have a passion for technology and computers.
  • Applicants must be aspiring software developers.
  • Applicants must have their own reliable transport.
  • Applicants must not be employed full-time.
  • Applicants must not be studying with any institution full-time.
  • Applicants need to have a strong internet connection and compatible devices with them.

Fill out the online evaluation on the application site or reserve a time to use the facilities on the designated assessment day. (applicants will receive a link by SMS or email to complete the entrance test)

Those who are selected will be given the opportunity to enroll in one of We Think’s six coding boot camps at its campuses in Johannesburg, Cape Town, or Durban.

Candidates will be shortlisted for a final selection interview if they satisfy all Bootcamp conditions.

Candidates will be invited to enroll in WeThinkCode once they have successfully completed the final interview.
