University of Johannesburg (UJ): Bursaries 2023

University of Johannesburg (UJ) in partnership with Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) invites qualifying postgraduate students to apply for Bursary Programme 2023 academic year.

 

The “W&R SETA Leadership Chair: Gauteng Masters and Doctoral bursary” is open to students pursuing Master’s or Ph.D. studies at the University of Johannesburg, preferably with these research areas:

  • Retail Business Management
  • Retail Marketing
  • Wholesale and Retail
  • Wholesale Business Development

Requirements:

Master’s degree applicants:

  • You must be a South African citizen OR a South African permanent resident
  • You must have completed an Honours degree in one of these fields: Marketing or Retail
  • You must have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Research Methodology on NQF level 8
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60%
  • You must be enrolled or intend on studying towards a Master’s degree at the University of Johannesburg in 2023
  • You must have an approved Master’s or Ph.D. proposal with a focus on the preference areas
  • You must be passionate about Retail

PhD degree applicants:

  • You must have completed a Master’s degree in one of these subject fields: Marketing or Retail
  • You must have achieved a minimum result of 65% for your Master’s degree
  • You must have achieved a minimum result of 60% for Research Methodology on NQF level 8
  • You must be enrolled or intend on studying towards a Ph.D. degree at the University of Johannesburg in 2023
  • You must have an approved Master’s or Ph.D. proposal with a focus on the preference areas
  • You must be passionate about Retail

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses:  Tuition fees, as well as cover for data collection and language editing.
