Teaching Assistant Applications Are Officially Closed

The application closing deadline for the new phase of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative has arrived. Here is what the step of the recruitment process entails.

If you are yet to apply for the fourth phase of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative’s teacher assistant programme, then you have unfortunately missed your chance to do so. The Basic Education Department confirmed that the closing application deadline was on Sunday 16 October 2023.

Elijah Mhlanga, the department’s spokesman, continued by stating that the SAYouth.Mobi application platform for the PYEI received 12.3 million applications, of which 1.4 million were submitted by unique applicants. The entire application procedure could be completed at no expense to the applicant.

He also said that the PYEI’s current phase is on track to create more than 250 000 job openings in roughly 20 000 public schools and institutions serving students with special needs (LSEN)

The department’s PYEI initiative has so far given youngsters, specifically those between the ages of 18 and 34, 850 000 job opportunities across all of its prior phases.
