UNDERSTAND WHAT IS BURSARIES?
Much like a scholarship, a bursary is usually awarded based more on financial need than academic standing. It is a form of support or financial aid given to students to enable them to continue their studies. Governmental initiatives, academic institutions, and private or public organisations may all give out bursaries. They’re a fantastic method to give people who might be having financial difficulties more access to education. Using South32, students in South Africa can apply for the 2024 bursaries. Would you still be eligible for a bursary the next year if your academic performance was poor?
Given the scarcity of financial resources in South Africa, it is essential that students receiving any kind of financial aid have exceptional academic results. Apart from providing financial support to deserving students, the F.E.T. Colleges Bursary Scheme aims to bridge the widespread skills gap in our nation.
These talent shortages cannot be solved if academic excellence is not encouraged. As a result, if a student fails their academic courses, they will not be eligible for a scholarship the next year.
