South African Reserve Bank: Internships 2024/2025 and how to apply and closing date!

Internship Location: Pretoria, South Africa

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is inviting productive and talented postgraduates to join its one-year Graduate Development Programme in January 2025.

Graduates will work and learn at the SARB Head Office from January – December 2025. They will be assigned to a department and exposed to various tasks and projects.

During the Programme, graduates will attend various learning interventions at the SARB Academy. Interventions are mainly specific to central banking and are aimed at producing well-rounded central bankers.

South African Reserve Bank: Internship Programme 2024

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) invites all innovative and talented applicants to apply for its Information Technology Internship (Grow-IT) opportunity.

Grow-IT is an internship program that is aimed at addressing the current and future skills needs of the SARB’s Business Solutions and Technology Department (BSTD) in response to the departmental strategy and workforce planning. This includes capacity- and capability-building, as well as succession-planning and future talent in the department.

Requirements:

To be considered for this internship, candidates must:

  • Have a National Diploma in IT (NQF 6) or a Bachelor’s degree in:
  1. Computer Science,
  2. Information Systems,
  3. Data Science,
  4. Mathematics,
  5. Statistics
  6. or Software Engineering;
  • Be a South African citizen;
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years; and
  • Be curious, self-motivated, and innovative.

Format of the Internship Programme

  • Successful applicants will be placed within the information technology (IT) environment to acquire all the required competencies.
  • The duration of the program is a one-year contract (with an option to extend).

During the program, learners will acquire the required technical and behavioral competencies based on their areas of specialization, namely Advanced Analytics, Cybersecurity, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Technologies (Virtualisation, Operating Systems, and Storage), Integration Technologies, Server and SWIFT.
