Sassa Grant Payment Dates For July 2023

As the last remaining days of June draw to a close, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has recently confirmed the social grant payment dates for July. Here is how the agency has arranged its grant payment schedule.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) estimates that about 46% of South Africans receive social grants from the organisation.

Permanent social grants are distributed to qualified applicants by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) during the first week of each month. There are several grants available, including the Child Support, Care Dependency, Older People, and disability grants.

Sassa has also stated it will start distributing these social grants on the second day of each month. Beneficiaries will receive their grants earlier each month due to this announcement

Payment dates for July 2023:

  • Monday 4 July 2023: Older Persons Grant
  • Tuesday 5 July 2023: Disability Grant
  • Wednesday 6 July 2023: Children’s Grant

Earlier this month, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) confirmed that the Child Support Grant (CSG), which is a social grant for low-income families intended to financially assist with the costs of their children’s essential requirements would be increased. Anyone under the age of 18 is considered a “child” in this circumstance.

This came after the Department of Social Development (DSD) recently put into effect measures that will significantly boost the amount that is typically paid out for this grant in an effort to benefit this group of beneficiaries.

As a result, all eligible children will now receive a total of R720, which includes their standard R480 Child Support Grant (CSG) as well as an additional R240 (50% of the basic CSG).
