Your study must be related to one or more of the following fields:
- Genetics, Genomics, and Breeding
- Production and Management
- Reproduction
- Health, Bio-Security and Welfare
- Nutrition
- Rangeland and Pasture
- Environment
- Economics and Marketing
- Slaughter / Carcass
- Hygiene product safety, and quality
- Consumer Health and Acceptance
- or any other field related to the red meat industry
Eligibility Requirements:
- Field of Study: Postgraduate studies (Master’s or Doctorate degree)
- Research Focus: Red Meat Species (Cattle, Sheep, or Goats)
- Areas of Study:Â Multiple fields related to the red meat industry
- South African citizenship is mandatory.
- Applicants must be eligible for a Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field of study.
- Candidates must be enrolled full-time at a recognized South African tertiary institution.
- Master’s degree applicants require a relevant Bachelor’s degree; doctorate degree applicants must hold a Master’s degree.
- Applicants must not be employed during the bursary period.
What the bursary offers:
- Bursary Value:Â R60,000 per annum
- Payment Structure: Two installments per year, over 2–3 years, depending on degree pursued
