  • Genetics, Genomics, and Breeding
  • Production and Management
  • Reproduction
  • Health, Bio-Security and Welfare
  • Nutrition
  • Rangeland and Pasture

  • Slaughter / Carcass
  • Hygiene product safety, and quality
  • Consumer Health and Acceptance
  • or any other field related to the red meat industry

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Field of Study: Postgraduate studies (Master’s or Doctorate degree)
  • Research Focus: Red Meat Species (Cattle, Sheep, or Goats)
  • Areas of Study: Multiple fields related to the red meat industry
  • South African citizenship is mandatory.
  • Applicants must be eligible for a Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Candidates must be enrolled full-time at a recognized South African tertiary institution.
  • Master’s degree applicants require a relevant Bachelor’s degree; doctorate degree applicants must hold a Master’s degree.
  • Applicants must not be employed during the bursary period.

  • Bursary Value: R60,000 per annum
