As a junior data analyst, Mazars is offering a YES Learnership opportunity.
The learner will gather information, summarize it, combine it with other information, and put it into reports to help the organization become more efficient.
To develop and recommend creative solutions, the learner will also speak with a variety of stakeholders and audiences.
The learner will also be expected to always strive to advance their knowledge of and abilities in analytical activities.
Finally, the learner will assist a department inside the company in a specialized capacity while working under supervision.
Program obligations and responsibilities:
- Interpret data, apply statistical methods to the findings, and produce continuous reports.
- Create and implement databases, systems for collecting data, data analytics, and other plans to improve statistical effectiveness and quality.
- Obtain information from primary or secondary sources, and keep databases and data systems up to date.
- In complex data sets, recognize, examine, and evaluate any trends or patterns.
- Examine computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to filter and “clean” data, finding and fixing coding issues.
- Prioritize business and information needs with the management.
- Find and describe the potential for new process improvements.
Requirements
This learnership program will require applicants to meet the following criteria to be considered ideal applicants:
- Must have finished Matric.
- Must have earned a post-matriculation degree (Quantitative or IT subjects are advantageous).
- Must be highly technically proficient in database design, development, data mining, and segmentation methods.
- The ability to use databases and reporting packages must be strong (SQL).
- Good SQL scripting and database management skills are required.
- Excel proficiency is required (VBA Excel is advantageous)
- The ability to gather, organize, evaluate, and communicate a substantial amount of information while paying close attention to and maintaining accuracy is a requirement for effective analytical skills.
- Must be skilled at creating reports, asking questions, and presenting results.
