ISASA Teacher Internship programme 2023/2024
Opportunities exists for young teachers-in-training to gain valuable experience on our Academic Intern Programme in 2023/2024. The successful applicant should be committed to a career in education and should be studying towards a Bachelor of Education degree or another degree, with the aim of obtaining a PGCE.
Interns are involved in all aspects of school life, including:
- activities within the selected subject departments;
- assisting/ teaching in the classroom;
- assisting with Electives and the Clubs and Cultural programme;
- performing boarding house, Knowledge Centre, and San duties;
- performing various ad hoc duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- You are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and entering your third or fourth year of studyÂ
- Or a Bachelor’s Degree + Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
Competencies:
- Ability to fully participate in the school’s extramural programme.
- Have a passion for learning and see themselves working towards a permanent career in teaching.
- Actively seeking to develop professionally in a school environment that is committed to providing quality education.
- Computer literate
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent command of the English language.
