Learnerships are a great opportunity if you want to learn skills and develop a career. The 2023 course is now open and we keep you updated on the latest Learnerships available for you.

If you sign up for the Staff Training Program you will receive training to get a full degree but you do not have to pay tuition fees.

In fact, if you sign up for Learnership you will be paid in the form of a stipend. This means you will be paid monthly while you are in leadership – the amount you will be paid depends on the level of learnership.

ICT Skills Training Programme 2023

If you are currently sitting at home and have Grade 12/Matric here’s an opportunity for you to study for free. After the 6 month training period, you will be placed in an internship with one of our placement partners. You do not pay anything during your program; instead, you will pay back your training costs in installments every month only once you have a job and are employed full-time. You’ll also receive a monthly allowance to help with transport costs during the program.

After the 6 month training period, you will be placed in an internship with one of our placement partners. An example of these partners is Younglings who have a long-standing relationship with us. Younglings Voluntary Association is a Non-Profit Organisation dedicated to creating an environment for young people who aspire to become Software Developers.

Program Summary:

You will be split into 1 of 3 training streams (Java, Python, Software Development) based on your interest and skills level during the first month of training. You will then be trained in one of the 3 streams for the remaining 5 months of the 6 months of technical training. At the end of the training, you will receive a vendor certification at the end of the 12-month program upon successful completion.

Who should apply?

If you have strong communication skills, a technical background either attended an IT course, self-thought or done the CAT subject in school, are highly driven by success, and have a passion for tech, we would love to hear from you.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Matric (CAT subject & Tertiary IT qualification advantageous)
  • Aged between 18 and 25 years
  • South African Citizen
  • Unemployed
  • Must live in Cape Town

Programme Content:

6 months of training:

  • 1-month front end and basics
  • 5 months Java, Python or Software Dev (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and frameworks)
  • Mock assessment

Post Training internship:

  • Internship and upskilling
  • Vendor certification opportunity at the end of the 6 months with two assessment opportunities – Microsoft or Oracle depending on stream.
