EXTENSION OF THE CLOSING DATE TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR FURTHER STUDIES DURING THE 2023 ACADEMIC YEAR

Notice is at this moment given that the closing date for applications for financial assistance towards further studies during the 2023 academic year has been extended to Friday, January 27, 2023.
This is due to the fact that the Matric Results for the 2023 Academic Year are only coming out after the original closing date, which was January 15, 2023.
Please remember that all criteria and conditions stated in the original advertisement remain unchanged.

Applications are invited from students currently receiving tuition at Accredited Learning Institutions and learners who are currently in Grade 12 or have passed Grade 12, for financial assistance toward further studies during the 2023 academic year. The financial contribution by Bitou Municipality is restricted to full-time study and attendance at SAQA accredited Tertiary, only university and Technicon students. This is ONLY applicable to students studying at local schools and studying in the following fields:
- Public Administration / Business Management
- Engineering (Electrical/ Mechanical/ Roads and Infrastructure)
- Engineering Analytical chemistry / civil engineering
- Supply Chain Management
- Local economic development /Tourism
- Internal Auditing
Applications should have your acceptance letter from the tertiary institution attached.
Application forms are available at the Bitou Municipal offices and Libraries during normal office hours (Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30; Friday 07:30 – 13:30). Application forms are also available from the municipality’s website at www.bitou.gov.za/bitou-bursary-2023
THE BITOU MUNICIPALITY WILL ONLY CONSIDER COMPLETED APPLICATIONS IF THE DOCUMENTS MENTIONED BELOW HAVE BEEN INCLUDED.
How to apply
A detailed Curriculum Vitae and cover letter, application form, and certified copies of the following documentation must be attached: Latest or Grade 12 results or equal qualification; latest examination results of students currently enrolled at tertiary institutions; certified copy of I.D.; affidavit of parents’ combined income and proof of residential address.
Please forward the application form and all documents to Bitou Municipality, 04 Sewel Street, Plettenberg Bay, 6600, for attention: Youth & Sports Coordinators section. Please hand in the application at Bitou Municipality Main Building – 04 Sewel Street Plettenberg Bay, 6600.
