ASUTH School of Nursing Aba Admission Requirements

General nursing programme admission requirements for candidates into the General Nursing Programme of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

1. Candidates must have reached the age of 16.

2. Candidates must have at least 5 (five) “Cs (Credits)” grades in their O’level result (s)  not more than 2 sittings

3. Candidates must score at least 100 in the JAMB UTME examination.

Can I Use NABTEB to Enter the School of Nursing?

Candidates must possess at least five (5) credits at not more than two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in WAEC, NECO, and/or NABTEB.

A combination of WAEC, and NECO is acceptable. However, NABTEB cannot be combined with WAEC NECO or another NABTEB

Which Course in Nursing is the Best?

Diploma-level nursing courses like GNM and ANM are more practical and provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become licensed nurses.

However, post-Basic B. Sc Nursing and B. Sc Nursing are degree-level courses that give more in-depth knowledge of nursing theory and practice.

How Many Years Is the School of Nursing in Abia State?

The School of Nursing Abia is a 4 years full-time National Diploma (ND), and Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme in General Nursing.

Entry Requirement for admission into the ND General Nursing is Five (5) Credits in WASC, SSCE, NECO, or GCE O Levels in not more than 2 sittings.

Did the School of Nursing go for NYSC?

The NYSC Act only accepts holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees from accredited institutions who are qualified for the service.

This means that graduates of the school of nursing, which is a three-year diploma programme, are not required to go for the NYSC.
