If you sign up for the Staff Training Program you will receive training to get a full degree but you do not have to pay tuition fees.
In fact, if you sign up for Learnership you will be paid in the form of a stipend. This means you will be paid monthly while you are in leadership – the amount you will be paid depends on the level of learnership.
Ampath has vacancies for a two-year Phlebotomy Technician Learnership Programme, where learners will be working with patients.
Phlebotomy Technicians will be responsible for the collection of blood and non-blood specimens for pathology. Classroom training is based in Centurion, Pretoria. Practical training will take place at any of the AMPATH depots in the Gauteng region. No accommodation or transport will be provided.
Candidates are expected to enter into a contractual and performance agreement with Ampath.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Requirements
- Have a valid grade 12 school leaving certificate with English, Life Sciences (Biology), and Mathematics/Math’s Literacy as subjects.
- English at NQF level 3
- Mathematics/Math’s Literacy at NQF level 3
- Life Sciences (Biology) at NQF Level 3
Behavioral Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- A strong customer service orientation.
All applicants must be willing to undergo psychometric assessments.
